What is Facebook?

Facebook is a very popular and free social networking website. It helps registered Facebook users to create profiles, upload photos and videos, send messages and stay in touch with friends, family and colleagues. This site is absolutely free to use, and is available in approximately 37 different languages.

Did you know that online users who have never heard of Facebook are rare?

Most of us have been Facebook users for many years, but even today there are people for whom this platform is completely new and unfamiliar. So it is important to tell them what Facebook Messenger is, what its main features are so that they can use it properly.

It is very important to know how Facebook works. Its use and operation is very easy and simple, which any user can understand. Anyone with a Facebook account can voluntarily connect with any user and share content with them.

In this process the user sends a "Friend Request" which is later accepted by the recipient. This is like a Friend Request invitation. This is a double-sided feature that gives all users the opportunity to decide whether or not to accept a Friend Request. It depends on them.

Since the inception of Facebook, it has been growing all the time and more and more people have joined it. In addition, Facebook is constantly improving its mechanisms such as privacy and content management to enhance the user experience. To date, Facebook has more than 230 million registered Facebook users.

The reason why so many users are growing is because of the great features of Facebook and there are also pages that are constantly uploading quality content to Facebook.

Facebook is a privately run social network owned by Facebook Corporation. Users use it to make friends and send messages to each other. They even update their profiles to let friends know about them.

Additionally users can join networks based on city, school, college or workplace. Users can even share their diary or various topics with their friends on the 'Wall' or 'Timeline' of their Facebook user page. Users can add up to 5,000 friends to their account.

Facebook now has features like messaging, video chat, group chat and listening to songs. In order to use Facebook, since the Facebook account will be activated from the user's email, the user must have a private email account.

If you do not want to use Facebook, you can deactivate your account. After the account is deactivated, for the time being, no one can post comments, likes and posts on the Facebook account, but the account will not be permanently deleted and all notifications can be retrieved after activation.

Profiles: -

A profile is a place on Facebook where you can share information about yourself, such as your interests, photos, videos, current city and hometown. To view your profile, click on your name or profile picture at the top of Facebook. You can add up to 5,000 friends to your profile.

Pages: -

You must have a profile to create or manage a page. Pages are places on Facebook where artists, public figures, businesses, brands, organizations and non-profit organizations can connect with their fans or customers. When someone likes or follows a page on Facebook, they can start seeing updates from that page in their feed. You can like up to 5,000 pages created on Facebook.

Groups: -

You must have a profile to create a group. Groups are a place to communicate about interests with certain people. You can create a group for anything. When you join a group on Facebook, you start to see the contents of that group (Post, Photos, Videos) in your feed. You can only add up to 250 Facebook groups.

You can use Facebook on both mobile and computer. Internet is essential to use both Facebook. I have presented information on how to create ID on mobile and computer, how to make friends on Facebook, how to write status (post), how to post photos. 

How to create an ID on Facebook?

Username and Password are required to login to Facebook. You must have an email address and a mobile number to create an ID. In which Facebook sends the code. The code has to be verified. To create a Facebook ad, you need to do the following.

How to create Facebook ID in Facebook app on mobile: -

You need to install Facebook app to create ID on mobile. Follow the steps below to install the Facebook app.

Step 1: - Open Play Store app.

Step 2: - Type Facebook in the search box of Play Store app and tap on Search button. 

Step 3: - Tap on Install. 

Step 4: - Then start installing. 

Step 5: - Once installed, the Facebook app appears on the home screen of the mobile. 

Step 6: - Tap and open the app.

This way you can successfully install Facebook app on android phone.

Now you can create a Facebook ID using your mobile. To do this, do the following: -

Step 1: - Open the Facebook app.

Step 2: - Tap on Create New Account to create ID. If you have already created an ID, you can run the Facebook app by tapping on Login. 

Step 3: - Facebook asks permission to access the contacts on your mobile. For that, tab on allow. 

Step 4: - Facebook asks permission to access the phone calls on your mobile. For that, tab on allow. 

Step 5: - Enter your details, name and surname and click on Next button. Can be written in both English and Nepali language. 

tep 6: - Then your date of birth A.D. Select and tap on Next button. 

Step 7: - Then select your Gender and tap on Next button.

Step 8: - Enter your mobile number and tap on Next button. 

Step 9: - You must have a password for Facebook. Enter the password according to the criteria set by Facebook and tap on Next button. 

Step 10: - Now tap on Sign Up button to accept the Terms and Conditions issued by Facebook. 

Step 11: - Facebook asks permission to save your password. Tap on Save Password button.  

Step 12: - Facebook informs you to keep the phone number and password of the ID account you just created on Facebook safe. Keep it secret and safe. It can even be changed at any time. Tap OK button. 

Step 13: - The email address logged in to your mobile appears. Now you need to verify from mobile phone or email address. I verify here from mobile phone. For that, tap on the Confirm with code instead button. You can even verify by email. 

Step 14: - Now the code comes to your mobile. Check the message in the mobile, type the code and tap on Confirm button. If the message does not come, you can send the message back to the mobile by tapping on Send SMS Message Again. In addition, mobile phones can be changed if necessary. 

Step 15: - As seen in the picture below, now you have to keep the profile picture. For that you can choose the photos from the Instagram account and on the mobile phone. I tab here on the Choose from Gallery button. 

Step 16: - Facebook asks permission to access the photos on your mobile. For that, tab on allow. 

Step 17: - Select the photo and tap on the Done button at the top right of the app. 

Step 18: - Then crop the image and tap on Save button. 

Step 19: - Now you can view people's accounts on mobile. Tap the Add 5 friends button to add those people's accounts. People can be made friends even later. 

Step 20: - You can send invitations to the contact numbers on your mobile from which you have not used Facebook yet. For that, tap on the Invite button in the number to be invited. By doing this, an SMS is issued to the mobile number from your phone and even money is deducted from your phone after sending the SMS. Tap the Done button to do nothing about it. 

Now you can see that Facebook is open. 

This way you can successfully create Facebook ID (Sign up) by installing Facebook app on android phone.

How to create a Facebook ID using a computer: -

Step 1: - Open the Web Browser on your computer. Like Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox etc.

Step 2: - Type www.facebook.com in the web address bar and press Enter button. 

Step 3: - Then click on Create New Account button on Facebook Home Page. 

Step 4: - In the newly opened Popup Window fill in your own Details: - First Name, Last Name, Mobile Number or email, Password, Birthday etc and click on Sign Up Button. 

Step 5: - Write the SMS Code on your Mobile in the blank box after FB on the Website and click on Continue button.

Note: - If the SMS code is not available on the mobile, please click on the Send SMS Again button or by clicking on Update Contact Info, change the number and click on the Send SMS Again button.

Step 6: - Then the Account Confirmed dialog box appears. Click on Okay button. 

Step 7: - Your Facebook ID is your Mobile Number or Email Username and Password. Keep username and password secure. Then the Home Page of the Facebook Profile as shown below opens. 

In this way, you can create a Facebook account in the Facebook app on your mobile as well as open a Facebook account from a computer. This will keep the email address, username and password you have registered in the Facebook app secure.

If you forget your username and password, your Facebook account cannot be opened. If you have forgotten your username or password, you can retrieve it from your mobile number and email address registered on Facebook. Now you can make friends on Facebook, write posts.

How to login to Facebook?

After creating an account (ID) on Facebook, you need to login and update your profile on Facebook. You need to keep your personal, teaching, profile photo, cover photo, contact details and other details. For that you need to login to your Facebook account.

How to login to Facebook from mobile: -

Step 1: - Open the Facebook app.

Step 2: - If you have saved Facebook password, you can open Facebook by tapping on your photo. If not saved, your mobile number registered on Facebook. And login using password.

How to login to Facebook from computer: -

Step 1: - Open the browser on your mobile or computer. Like Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox etc.

Step 2: - Type www.facebook.com in the web address bar and press Enter button. Then the Home Page of Facebook opens as shown below. 

Step 3: - Your Facebook ID is your Mobile Number or Email Username and Password. Enter the Phone Number or Email and Password in the Email or Phone number shown in the picture below and press Log In button. Protect your ID details and do not share with others. It can be misused. 

Step 4: - Then the Home Page of your Facebook profile opens as shown below. 

Step 5: - Since there is no description in your profile at the beginning, you should search for friends and request to make friends and also keep your other details. Like uploading a profile picture, your introductory details are as shown in the picture below.

How to keep profile picture?

After creating a login account on Facebook, you have to put your profile picture. In it you have to put your photo.

How to keep profile picture from Facebook app on mobile: -

In the beginning, when you create a Facebook account, you can have a profile picture. Now do the following to change it as needed.

Step 1: - Open Facebook App and Login.

Step 2: - Tap on your photo. 

Step 3: - Tap the image that looks like the camera in the bottom right bar of your profile photo. 

Step 4: - Tap on Select Profile Picture button from the options given below. 

Step 5: - Choose a photo. 

Step 6: - If you want to crop the photo then crop it and tap on save button. Your profile photo is uploaded. You can see the photo is updated. 

This way you can keep or update your new profile photo using the Facebook app.

How to post profile picture on Facebook using computer: -

Step 1: - Log In to Facebook.

Step 2: - Click on your own name as shown in the picture. Like Santosh Bhatt 

Step 3: - Click on the circle image and click Add Photo. 

Step 4: - + Click on Upload Photo. 

Step 5: - Select one of the photos on your computer or mobile and click on the Open button. 

Step 6: - Keep details related to your photo. If the size of the photo does not match, drag and crop. Click on Save button.

How to find friends? (Find people you know)

Initially your Facebook account is empty. In that you have to find friends on Facebook and add them to your friend list. Do the following to find and add friends.

How to open Facebook app from Mobile and search for Friend: -

Step 1: - Open Facebook App and Login.

Step 2: - After the Home tab, tap on the icon that looks like a picture of a person. As shown in the picture below which shows a notification. 

Step 3: - You can see the list of people. To add people to your screen, tap the Add friend button. Additionally, you can add people by searching on Facebook.   

Do the following to search and make friends.

Step 1: - Tap on Search in the picture above. 

Step 2: - A list of people appears. If you find the person you are looking for, tap on that person's name. If not found, click on See All to view the list. If found, tap the person's name and open the profile.  

I open my own profile here. After opening the profile, you can see the Add Friend button. Tap on the button to make friends. 

This way, you can use the Facebook app to find people and make friends.

How To Search Friend On Facebook Using Computer: -

Step 1: - Log In to Facebook.

Step 2: - Click on the Find Friends button on the left side. Or click See all under People You May Know as seen in the picture. 

Step 3: - Click on Add Friend button to make people friends as shown in the picture. Once the Friend Request is sent, the person must accept the Friend Request you have sent. After accepting, you will appear in that person's friend list and you can even chat. You can even see the activities of that person on Facebook. 

Step 4: - From Facebook's "Search Facebook" you can search for a friend and send a friend request to that person. 

Step 5: - Then click on Add friend button. 

This way you can search on Facebook and request friends and relatives to join Facebook.

How to find and add friends using email?

If you want to add a friend to Facebook, you can add a friend search from the person's email address. For that, do the following.

Step 1: - Log In to Facebook.

Step 2: - Type the email address of the person you want to be friends with in Facebook's Search Box and press Enter. Click on the name of the person seen in the list. For example, typing the email address bhattmohandutt@gmail.com in the search box shows a Facebook profile named Mohan Bhatt. By default this page starts showing all the information related to the email. Like Posts, Photos, Videos, Groups, Pages etc. 

Step 3: - Click on Add Friend button to make that person a friend. After sending Friend Request, even your own person should accept the request sent by you to make a friend. 

This way you can create a Friend Request on Facebook by searching on Facebook even from email.

Status (post) writing method!

If you want to share some information (Status, Post) with your friends and relatives on Facebook, do the following.

How to open a Facebook app on mobile and write a post: -

Step 1: - Open the Facebook App.

Step 2: - After you open Facebook, What’s on your mind? Can see Tap on that. 

Step 3: - Re: What’s on your mind? Tap on Write the information you want to share with your friends and tap on Post button. 

The information you write appears on Facebook. 

This way you can share information with your friends.

How to write a post by logging in to Facebook on a computer: -

Step 1: - Log In to Facebook.

Step 2: - Click on “What’s on your mind, Santosh” seen on Home Page. Your First Name appears after "What's on your mind" on your Facebook Home Page. 

Step 3: - Click on Post button with the information you want to share with your friends in the box that appears empty. In Status you can add photos, tags to friends, emoji and other information along with your status. The status you share can be kept as public, friends only, friends only one or more friends (friends except), some friends only specific (friends). 

With the above mentioned method, you can write a post on Facebook and share it with your friends and relatives.

How to send a message?

To send a message to your friends and relatives on Facebook, do the following.

How to open Facebook app on mobile and send message to friends: -

For this you need to install Facebook Messenger. But if you are using Facebook Lite app, you can also message from there.

How to open Facebook and send messages to your friends on your computer: -

Step 1: - Log In to Facebook.

Step 2: - Click on Messenger under Menu on the right side of Facebook Home Page.

Step 3: - Click on New message in the newly opened Popup Menu. 

Step 4: - Type the name of the friend to send to To field. A friend's name appears as you type. Click on the name of the friend you see. 

Step 5: - Type message in Message box. After typing the message, press Enter button or click on the image. 

This way, you can login to your computer and send messages to your friends and relatives who are connected to Facebook.

How to check and reply to a message?

To check and reply to messages sent by your friends and relatives on Facebook, do the following.

Step 1: - Log In to Facebook.

Step 2: - If you have been sent a message by a friend, you can see the red number in the top right of Messenger on the right side of Facebook's Home Page as Notification. It is understood that the number of friends sent the message is the same as the number. As seen in the picture below, there is a number from which it can be understood that only one friend has sent the message. When you click on the Messenger menu, even the number that is in color at night is lost. 

Step 3: - Click on the name of the sender to see the complete message sent in the newly opened Popup Menu. 

Step 4: - After clicking on the name of the person sending the message, the complete message can be viewed and replayed through the same box. 

This way you can check the message on Facebook and reply to the message.

How to create and upload a photo album?

You can create an album with a collection of photos and videos on Facebook. Live videos cannot be added to the album. Do the following to create a new album.

How to open Facebook app from mobile and upload photo album: -

Step 1: - Open the Facebook App.

Step 2: - After you open Facebook, tap on Photo option as shown in the picture below. 

Step 3: - Select photos and tap on Next button. 

Step 6: - Say something about these phots and tap on Post button. 

After a while, the photos you uploaded will appear. 

This way you can even upload photos to Facebook.

How to open Facebook and upload photo album to computer: -

Step 1: - Login to Facebook.

Step 2: - Click on your profile picture in the top right of Facebook. 

Step 3: - Click on Photos button, then click on Albums button and click on Create Album. 

Step 4: - Name the album, click on Upload Phots or Videos and select photos or videos from your computer. Then you can keep general information related to each photo or video. 

Step 5: - The privacy of the album can be maintained. (Example: public, friends).

Step 6: - Click on Post button after privacy.

Step 7: - Finally you can see the uploaded album. 

The above mentioned method allows you to upload your photos on Facebook using mobile and computer.

How to upload videos on Facebook?

Like uploading photos to Facebook, you can also upload videos from the camera to Facebook. Follow the steps below to upload.

How to upload videos to Facebook from mobile: -

This process is similar to uploading a photo to a mobile phone, so the process of uploading a video is not mentioned.

How to upload video to Facebook from computer: -

Step 1: - Open Facebook from the web browser on the computer.

Step 2: - Click on What’s on your mind. 

Step 3: - Click on the image that looks like the photo. 

Step 4: - Click on Add Photos / Videos. 

Step 5: - Choose the video you want to upload to Facebook from computer. Then click on the Post button. 

Step 6: - The video starts uploading and uploads sooner or later depending on the speed of your internet. 

Step 7: - Once the video is uploaded, you can watch it on your profile.

This way you can upload videos from small to large size on Facebook.

How to tag friends in album photos? (Tagging friends in photo album)

You can tag photos and videos with your friends on Facebook. When you tag someone, the photo is shared with the tagged person and their friends. This means that if you have not already included their friends in that photo (audience), even the friends of the tagged person can now view this photo.

For example, if you tagged a friend of yours (Dhanesh Bhatt) in a photo shared with your friends, now your friends and even Dhanesh Bhatt's friends can see the photo. Do the following to tag the photo.

Step 1: - Login to Facebook.

Step 2: - Click on your profile picture in the menu at the top right of Facebook. 

Step 3: - Click on Photos, then click on Albums and click on the three dot image on the right side of the album to tag the friend from the created album. Click on Edit Album from the Options in the menu that appears. 

Step 4: - Click on any part of the photo you want to tag. Clicking opens the pop up box. Type the name of the tagged friend. When a friend's name appears, click on that name. Tagged In this way, you can tag your friends in other photos and your friends can see the information remembered in that photo.

How to chat with a friend? (Chatting with friends)

You can chat with your friends on Facebook in three ways: Voice, Audio and Video. Do the following for

Step 1: - Log In to Facebook.

Step 2: - Click on Messenger under Menu on the right side of Facebook Home Page.

Step 3: - Click on New message in the newly opened Popup Menu. 

Step 4: - Type the name of the friend to send to To field. A friend's name appears as you type. Click on the name of the friend you see. 

Step 5: - Type message in Message box. After typing the message, press Enter button or click on the image. 

This way message chatting can be done from both sides.

How to share photos or status? (Sharing Photos or Status with friends, group, page)

You can share photos or status with your friends on Facebook. For Soka do the following.

How to share photos or statuses uploaded from Facebook app on mobile to friends and relatives: -

Step 1: - Open the app.

Step 2: - Tap the Share button under the photo or post you want to share. 

Step 3: - Write something about it and tap on Share Now button. 

Then you can see the post is shared.

This way you can share photos or status of friends and relatives on Facebook.

Share photos or statuses uploaded from Facebook to your friends and relatives as follows.

Step 1: - Log In to Facebook.

Step 2: - Click on the Photo / Video in your News Feed or Timeline. 

Step 3: - Click on Add Photos / Videos to select the photo you want to share. 

Step 4: - If you want to upload other photos, click on Add Photos / Videos.

Step 5: - If you want to tag friends in the photo, click on the picture, search for friends and tag friends.

Step 6: - If you want to put the information of the place in that photo, select the place by clicking on the picture.

Step 7: - You can even add Feeling / Activity to the photo. To do this, click on Feeling / Activity and select the Feeling with your photo. 

Step 8: - Select the audience who want to share the photo and click on the post. 

To share the status with friends and relatives, do the following.

Step 1: - Click on “What’s on your mind, Santosh” seen in your News Feed or Timeline. Your First Name appears after "What's on your mind" on your Facebook Home Page. 

Step 2: - In the box that appears empty, put the information you want to share with your friends and click on Post. 

Step 3: - In Status you can add photos, tags, emoji and other information to your friends along with your status. The status you share can be kept as public, friends only, friends only one or more friends (friends except), some friends only specific (friends).

How to Go to Facebook Home Page?

After you log in to Facebook, you can see two main pages. One is Newsfeed and the other is your Timeline.

Step 1: - Log In to Facebook.

Step 2: - At the beginning Homepage opens in which you can view Newsfeed.  

Step 3: - Next page where you can see your timeline. In this timeline you can see the activities that you have done in the past. To go to the timeline, you have to click on your own name in the menu on the top or left side.

Step 4: - You can go to the homepage in two ways. First by clicking on the image at the top left of Facebook. By clicking on the image like Home on the right side of the next image. As seen in the picture below.

How to make a live video on Facebook?

Facebook also has a live broadcast feature. You can even create a live video on Facebook. You can share any entertainment program, music program as well as any other kind of programs around you with your Facebook friends live. You can create live video on both mobile and computer. Note that 4G internet or Wifi should be good on your mobile. Follow the instructions below to create a Live Video on Facebook.

How to make a live video from mobile: -

Step 1: - Open the Facebook app.

Step 2: - What’s on your mind? Just below you can see the Live button. Tap on the live button. 

Step 3: - Then the camera of your mobile opens. Tap on the Go Live button. 

Then you can start live video.

How To Make Live Video From Computer: -

Step 1: - Log In to Facebook.

Step 2: - At the beginning Homepage opens in which you can view Newsfeed. Post Writing What's on your mind, click on the Live Video option just below Mohan. 

Step 3: - Click on Create New button under Go Live as shown in the picture below. 

Step 4: - Your desktop computer must have a camera. If you are on a laptop, click on Webcam. General information related to live video Write in What's your live video about. 

Step 5: - Then click on the Go Live button on the left end. 

Step 6: - If you go to Go Live without knowing the Live Video, it looks like this to keep the Title. If the title is not kept, it can still be kept. If not, click Go Live. 

Step 7: - Live Video starts shortly. 

Step 8: - The webcam on your computer starts showing pictures. Now you can start talking. Your Facebook friends will know you are live. Your Facebook friends can even give their own feedback in your Live Video. 

Step 9: - When done, click on the End Live video button to stop the live video. 

Step 10: - Then, you can save or delete the live video. 

Step 11: - After saving or deleting the live video, the whole process of ending the live video can be done. 

This way you can easily come live on the computer.

How to view notifications on Facebook?

Your friends on Facebook need to go to the notification to see the activities. Like the post you wrote, you have to see the notification to see the comment made by your friends in the uploaded photo. For that, do the following.

How to view notification from mobile: -

Step 1: - Open the Facebook app.

Step 2: - After opening your Facebook, you can see the notification in red letters on the picture which looks like a bell. Tap on the icon that looks like the bell. 

Step 3: - You can see the activities of your friends and relatives connected on Facebook. If necessary, you can open the notification and leave your comment. 

How to view notification from computer: -

Step 1: - Log In to Facebook.

Step 2: - Facebook Homepage opens in which you can view Newsfeed.

You can see the number of notifications in the picture that looks like a bell on the right side of Facebook. 20+ means more than 20 notifications. Click on the image that looks like the bell. 

Step 3: - Clicking on it will show a list of notifications. You need to click on the notification to see the notification as per your requirement. 

This way you can easily see the comments of your friends or the activities of your friends on the photo that you have uploaded to Facebook on your computer.

How to create a Facebook page?

You can do limited tasks on your profile on Facebook. For example, only 5000 friends can be made, which means that your Facebook profile has only a limited audience. You can create a page for your business, organization, personal, etc.

For example, my current Facebook friends list is 4999. It cannot be increased more than 5 thousand. 

So you can increase your audience through Facebook page. Which can be a variety of benefits to you. For example, any information can be passed on to as many people as possible.

For example, the Facebook Page Routine of Nepal banda on Facebook currently has 2.9 M people added. 

Follow the instructions below to create a Facebook Page.

How To Create Facebook Page From Mobile: -

Step 1: - Open the Facebook app.

Step 2: - After opening your Facebook, tap on the three horizontal lines behind the picture that looks like a bell. 

Step 3: - Tap on Pages option from the options shown. 

Step 4: - Tap on Create option. 

Step 5: - Then tap on Get Started button.

Step 6: - Type the name of the page you want to create and tap on Next button. 

Step 7: - You have to choose the category for what the page you are trying to create is related to. Such as market, restaurant, health etc. Then tap on Next button. 

Step 8: - If you have created a website for your company or business then write and tap on Next button. If not, tap on the I don't have a website button and finally tap on the Next button. 

Step 9: - Now you have to keep cover and profile photo for Facebook page. Put photos in both places.

Then you can see your Facebook page is created.

How to create a Facebook Page from a computer: -

Step 1: - Log In to Facebook.

Step 2: - Click on Pages option in the menu on the left side of Facebook. 

Step 3: - Click on Create new Page button. 

Step 4: - I create a page for the shop here. By selecting Baby Store in Page name, Baby & Children's clothing store in Category, General information related to the store can be kept in Description. Then click on the Create Page button. You can also create other pages as per your requirement. 

Step 5: - Then click on Save button. 

This way you can create a Facebook page for your personal as well as your business.

There are no details on the page at the beginning. In that you have to update the details. Username of Facebook Page is also required. 

With the above mentioned method you can create your own business page as well as personal page.

How to like & follow Facebook page? 

In order to see the activities of the pages on Facebook regularly, you must like or follow the page. If you like or follow, you can see the activities on the page as a notification.

How to like Facebook Page from Mobile: -

Step 1: - Open the Facebook app.

Step 2: - Tap on Search icon. 

Step 3: - Type the name in the search box and tap on the search button on the mobile keyboard. Then you will find the page of the person / organization you are looking for under Pages. Tap on the picture that looks like a hand in it. 

To tap on a hand picture is to like the page. This way you can search and like any page.

How to like Facebook Page from computer: -

Step 1: - Log In to Facebook.

Step 2: - Click on the Search option in the Main Top Menu of Facebook.
